Ten Twitter Tips For Work-at-Home Moms

by Jill Hart

One of the largest social media websites, Twitter.com, can be an effective way to spread the word about your business and learn from other top representatives in your business niche. However, it can take a lot of time to determine the best ways to use Twitter effectively for business. Below are ten tips to help shorten that learning curve.

1. Choose a Meaningful User name
If possible, grab your business name as well as your own name for use on Twitter. Having an easy-to-find and easy-to-remember username is essential.

2. Brand your Twitter page
Don’t leave your Twitter page boring and plain – spice it up. Make sure you add your logo, contact information and any other information that will be helpful for customers and visitors to your page. You can use a website such as TwitBacks.com to create a free or very low-cost background to bring life to your page.

3. Learn the Lingo
Twitter can be very useful, but it can also be very frustrating … especially if you have no idea what all those little symbols mean that fly across the screen. Take the time to research the meanings of the tags most often used on Twitter. One great place to do so is right on Twitter itself: help.twitter.com/portal

4. Follow industry leaders
Veteran entrepreneur Diana Ennen shares this tip: “I love to follow industry experts on Twitter and gain all their business insight. It’s almost like being right there in their office and getting in on their trade secrets. Not only do they post tips and how to information, but often share their business successes and mistakes and that allows me to learn from them. It’s so worth it!”

5. Interact
Don’t be shy! Take a few minutes each day to comments on what others are discussing or to throw out a question or idea. You never know when a topic is going to spark a response and help you build relationships with customers and your fellow Twitter users.

6. Don’t make it all business news – be YOU
It’s great to share about the things going on in your business and you certainly will want to share specials, discounts and other items of interest to your customers. However, as a small business owner you have the unique ability to put a personal face on your business. Let your customers and readers get to know a little about you as well as your business.

7. Run Contests
Twitter is a great fast-paced way to a run a contest. By having a great prize you can create a viral network of “tweets” about your company and the giveaway you’re holding. Sit down beforehand and plan out some great 140 character tweets that you can use throughout the giveaway time – whether that be minutes, hours or even days.

8. Share
Make your Twitter feed a worthwhile read for your customers. Share tips that apply to your target market, links to articles and other informational tidbits. Create a #hashtag for your business or topic (see #3 above) so that you can track re-tweets and mentions of your posts.

9. Be Thankful
A great way to make friends and build contacts is to thank others who re-tweet (RT) your posts. Send a shout-out saying thanks or feature them at special times like FriendFriday (#FF). They’ll know that you’re grateful and you’ll build a community that supports you – and each other.

10. Promote Others
Contrary to popular belief it IS in your best interest to work together with other entrepreneurs and to help spread the word about great things that they may be doing. Not only will people be drawn to your Twitter feed for great information, but they will see that you’re willing to share about more than your own interests. Another great benefit is that those you help promote will one day be there to help promote you as well.

Twitter is a great marketing tool for work-at-home moms. It can help drive traffic to your website as well as aid you in building relationships with your target market. Use the tips above to help guide you in how to best use social media to benefit your business and your customers.

What Is The Product Oriented Home Based Business?

by Jaganjyot Singh

The niche you have chosen should allow creation of more than one product or service. With the technological advancements in the hosting industry, from automated control panels and scripts that simplify creation of accounts, to complete turnkey solutions; there is no need to worry about spending time on the real products sold to the customer.

The main ones are keyword selection, sales copy principles, graphics, affiliate programs, product creation, online payment processing, auto responders, and search engine optimization.

Once you’ve earned money from this type of information product business, you can invest in the creation of your own products if you want, or start offering more informational products that allow you to sell your knowledge. For more details go to http://www.create-video-product.com. But the creation and production costs of a similar big ticket in sequence product, although higher, are still pretty low. A key by-product of this process will be the creation of 3-D, Computer Assisted Design art.

The Association for Financial Professionals permits the following activities for repatriating funds: Research and Development activities, advertising and marketing programs, hiring and training new recruits, acquiring patent and other rights to intangible property, improving transportation, funding capital investments with the purpose of job creation and job retention & funding product responsibility or environmental claims.

It prohibits certain activities like: Tax payments, Payment of executive recompense, Payment of dividends, Redemption of stocks, Debt investments and Portfolio investments. Therefore, before repatriating the money, you must consider whether it is worth or not.

The goals for doing so are for the product owner to: Communicate the whole, Determine and communicate when releases are needed, Determine what functionality is sufficient for each release & focus on business value derived from the releases. The delivery team on the other hand will see the whole, learn about the steps to realize the vision, learn the business priorities, provide technical input to the roadmap and provide estimates for the projected features.

The salesperson must lead the prospect through the various decision criteria needed in order to secure a sale. You can also go to http://www.profiting-info-products.com. Whether your idea is the development of a product, launch of a service business, or even the creation of an event or program for a non-profit, creativity is the root of all entrepreneurial efforts starting with the vision itself.

People quickly learn to spend their time on marketing and product creation, rather than repetitive tasks. Apart from empowering companies and individuals, there should be a particular focus on identifying labor intensive businesses that have the potential to make a significant and positive impact on employment creation as well as those businesses that have a product or service offering for export markets with the final objective of booming local economies.

Keep Your Website or Blog Fresh and Updated with Little Effort

by Bridgette Mongeon

Many bloggers and website owners want to keep changing their website content and updating blog posts. They want to keep their readers intrigued, and they know that by putting new content on their websites and blogs they keep an interested audience, all the while helping their search engine rankings and their placement in the search engines. But coming up with new content regularly can be a daunting task. There is nothing like coming across a great blog with the last post stating, “I can’t continue to post anymore, it is taking up too much of my time.” Having a regular resource for content that is provided without any charge to you may be the answer.

If however, your site is a Christian site there are some clinchers in using this type of content. First, most of the complimentary content that is available on the web has links to the author’s website. The authors write the articles so that they will receive a link back to their site. That is the trade-off, you get an article and they get a link. Because others may be clicking through your blog to their site, you may want to take the time to follow the link back to their site, float around there and see exactly what their content says. However, you may find that if this author has written one article they have probably written several, and once you do your first bit of investigating you will have a resource for a while. But the time taken in researching their link is important. Because you link to them, their content is a type of representation of you. So be careful in putting just any content on your Christian website or blog.

The etiquette of using this type of content is to be sure that you copy all of the content including the hyperlinks back to the author’s site. This is no time for editing on your part. This service has been provided to you to aid you in keeping content fresh. The author of the article receives no monetary compensation for their time writing it. It is what it is- complementary, but to not copy the hyperlinks back to their site, or to revise their content would be bad form. Be sure to include the author’s byline found at the end of the article. This is usually where the links are placed.

You may also want to check to be sure the resource links that are embedded within the article provided are working and that the content that is represented through those links is worthy of being placed on your page. For example, if the article lists resources that support the topic and those links are broken or don’t work, it is a reflection on you. Or if the website of the author does not reflect your spiritual taste, that is something to note as well. Check all links to be sure that they work before placing the article on your site, and again after placing them on your site or blog.

Some complimentary articles may even have video, or audio that are used in to support of the written article. This offers you a way to have interactivity on your blog or website without having to have the cost of creating a podcast or movie. Just be sure, once again that all of the links are copied into your blog or website correctly and that the additional media loads easily on your website or blog. Many blogs are laden with extra graphics that already causes the page to load slowly. Adding more may cause you to lose readers.

So where does one find free content? Some websites such as God’s Word Collectibles have a list of these type of articles along with web sources where you can then search for more by topic. So if your site is a mommy blog, you might search for articles on children or parenting. If it is a blog on entrepreneurs or technology then you can research the same. The God’s Word Collectibles site also offers a way to receive complementary articles are sent regularly- right to you e-mail box! Just sign up on their website

It doesn’t get much easier than that. Keep your readers intrigued, your content fresh, new, and interesting by using the resources of complimentary content.

by Lorene Troyer
2/06/2010 / Internet

One of the biggest challenges faced by website owners is getting traffic to their site. You may have the most beautiful website on the Internet but if no one sees it, what good is it? Here are 7 ways to get free traffic to your site.

1. Use good keywords. You will want to use phrases that a lot of people are searching for with the least amount of competition. There are many wonderful free keyword tools available to help you.

2. Use social media. You can let your friends on Facebook and Twitter know when you have published a new article on your website. Give them enough information about the article to make them want to read it.

3. Put a “share this” button on your website. This will encourage your readers to share your articles with their friends either via e-mail or social media.

4. Make it easy for people to have your latest posts delivered to their inbox. Many people don’t know how RSS feed works but most can figure out how to put their e-mail address in a sign up box.

5. Create an e-mail signature that links back to your website. This is a short message that gets added to the end of any e-mails you write. You may want to make several different ones instead of sending the same one to every person.

6. Use article directories. Submit high quality, interesting and informative articles with a compelling offer in the author bio box. Not only will your articles get read and published by other people but you will also have some interested visitors coming to your website.

7. Create a free report that will be of interest to your target market. Put a link to your website in the footer and encourage people to share it with others.
